The Empire State Building was the first construction project to use line and balance scheduling and was the first ever IPD project. A record breaking four and a half stories per week were built in 1930 to 1931. Construction was completed two weeks ahead of schedule.

To accomplish great things we must dream as well as act. There are many who talk about change and few who take action. We believe that human interaction, conflict, argument and debate are the necessary ingredients for innovation. CIDCI brings together those ingredients to enable innovation in the North American design and construction industry.

Our format is simple. Provide in-person forums to showcase true innovators in our industry and then share the content with the broadest audience possible. Each forum is sponsored by member firms so that our membership dues are focused on planning and content distribution using viral social media.
